In the heart of Milan, the Giardino delle Arti is currently hosting an unusual exhibition for Salone del Mobile 2025. Luxury brand MCM has partnered with Pet Therapy to create an installation focused on shared living spaces for humans and animals. The centerpiece is a series of sculptural, pet-friendly poufs designed to look like cats and dogs.
The installation aims to redefine inclusive seating by drawing on childhood joy and the comforting presence of pets. It creates an immersive experience that invites guests into a dreamlike space where furniture meets art. The project celebrates the bond between humans and their furry companions through a lens of playful design.
A Family-Driven Vision
At the center of this imaginative project is 11-year-old Altea Biagetti. Her vision was nurtured by her parents, Alberto Biagetti and Laura Baldassari of Atelier Biagetti. This family-centric approach brings a distinct perspective to the design world, prioritizing simplicity and immediate recognition over complex forms.
The collection resonates deeply with families from all walks of life, offering a tribute to the innocence and wonder of childhood. The designers explained their philosophy: “We envisioned a home without limits, where design becomes a way to share tenderness and imagination.”

While high-end design often prioritizes form over function, this collaboration highlights a growing demand for inclusivity in home decor. It recognizes that for many owners, pets are central to the household experience, necessitating furniture that accommodates them comfortably rather than simply tolerating their presence in a human-centric environment.
Materials and Atmosphere
The MCM x Pet Therapy collection redefines modern luxury by merging bold aesthetics with a whimsical style. The pieces feature playful, cartoon-inspired details and illustrated pet characters made from upcycled materials. This choice of material adds a layer of sustainability to the visual narrative.
As visitors enter the installation, they are greeted by surreal palm tree lights and rich textures that embody a vision of a playful home. Oversized cat sculptures and playhouses serve as both decorative objects and interactive elements. These features are designed to spark curiosity and invite moments of play and relaxation.
Miniature wooden houses are scattered throughout the space to create an inviting atmosphere. The arrangement encourages visitors to view the joy of play as a vital component of life, rather than a distraction from serious design.

Brand Philosophy and Events
The installation pushes against the boundaries of traditional home design, inviting people to experience their living spaces in ways that are delightful and new. Sung-Joo Kim, Chief Visionary Officer at MCM, emphasized the brand’s intent behind the project.
“At MCM, design goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about creating experiences that bring happiness and emotional connection,” Kim stated. The collaboration attempts to bridge the gap between luxury fashion and functional art.
The organizers have planned a series of unique activation events to make the space dynamic. Each day features different activities, ranging from Pet Pilates to dog training sessions. These events are intended to bring the static furniture to life through interaction.
The installation at the Giardino delle Arti opened on April 7th with a press preview. It will be accessible to the public from April 8–13, 2025, allowing attendees of Salone del Mobile to experience the space firsthand.
